The company, called Gatsby Chocolate, appeared on Friday's season premiere of ABC's "Shark Tank." The appeal for Gatsby Chocolate was evident — lots of people have a sweet tooth, and a candy bar with less calories but "no compromise on taste" sounds like a no-brainer. But for Lori Greiner and guest shark Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, it just didn't fit. While Lori entertained that notion, for a 25% stake, Cuban balked: "My brand is too big to be the face of the brand," the billionaire said. "Specifically, we're actively looking into 'Gatsby Chocolate: The good for you bar,' after discussing with Mark and Lori, so be on the lookout!"

For a reference point, the move to 30 teams started with the formation of an MLB expansion committee in March 1994. The Diamondbacks and Rays both paid $130 million to enter MLB in 1998 while the Marlins and Rockies paid $95 million in 1993. Back in 1977, the Blue Jays ($7 million) and Mariners ($6.5 million) paid even less.

One of the most important developments driving political polarization over the past two decades is the growth in small-dollar contributions. Increasing the share of campaign pledges from modest donors has long been a goal of campaign-finance reformers, but it turns out that small donors hold far more ideologically extreme views than those of the average voter. In their 2022 paper, “Small Campaign Donors,” four economists, Laurent Bouton, Julia Cagé, Edgard Dewitte and Vincent Pons, document the striking increase in low dollar ($200 or less), campaign contributions in recent years. Bouton and his colleagues found that the total number of individuals grew from 5.2 million in 2006 to 195.0 million in 2020. Over the same period, the average size of contributions fell from $292.10 to $59.70.

Bouton told Insider, "I didn't believe in a positive outcome anymore, but the ruling is historical.

During the summer of 2017, low-calorie Halo Top Creamery was the best-selling pint of ice cream in America. "He just wanted to eat an entire pint of ice cream and not hate himself for it." To satisfy his sweet tooth, he wanted to concoct something that tasted like ice cream but was healthier and had less sugar. He liked his creation so much that he eventually bought an ice cream maker (on sale on Amazon for $20). The ice cream market in the U.S. was $6.7 billion for the 52 weeks ended Sept. 28, 2018, according to Nielsen.
